Qwas was the "surrealist-rock" excursion by Nick Sibicky and vocalist Melanie Curcio. Qwas produced two albums, The Oneiric and The Story of the Morning in 2004 and 2005, respectively. The albums are filled with songs that juxtapose everyday life with impossible imagery. Many songs, such as "Early" and "When All is Well" are underscored by heavy electronic processing and synthesizer parts, while other tracks such as "Good As You" and "Song that No One Sings" dip back into guitar-driven with emphasis on word-play. Eclecticism abounds throughout, and the listener is often taken on extended journeys through many styles of music.
